ECONOMICS JOURNALIST

JUNIOR WEB DEVELOPER

Candidates must have:
• a commitment to web standards, interoperability, SEO
• visual and interactive design knowledge
• the ability to design and layout templates with special attention to browser compatibility
• the capability to transform business requirements and comps into simple and clean,
  standards compliant semantic markup (very strong xhtml, css and javascript skills)
• willingness to handle both large projects and small tasks as needed
• ability to multi-task and manage several projects at once
• excellent communication skills

Strong technical skills in the following products/technologies are required for this position:
• CSS
• JavaScript
• Flash/ActionScript 3
• HTML/XHTML/XML
• PHP 5
• MySQL

Beneficial knowledge and/or experience:
• Yahoo! User Interface Library
• Content publishing systems
• Consumer web sites

Work requires a 4-year college degree in a computer related discipline, equivalent technical training and/or work experience with an emphasis on front end development. 1 to 3 years experience required working on front end solutions for commercial websites.
